Military Success Stories

I am a former US Marine and my MOS was 1142 Power Generation Technician. I had two deployments to Afghanistan, where I provided artillery support to infantrymen and trained the Afghan National Army. When I initially applied for an in-house Technical Support Engineer position at Trumpf, I wasn’t sure if I could adjust to a ‘desk job’ environment that was so different from the hands-on jobs I had in the military. I have been with Trumpf now for 18 months and I love it here because they understand that hard work and discipline are engrained in former military members. Most importantly, they have given me the opportunity to prove myself.

The training center at Trumpf is amazing and made my transition to their company extremely smooth. When I arrived I didn’t know anything about laser beams, but now I am so knowledgeable about 2d laser cutting systems that I am considered an expert in a specific niche. I am so impressed with the amount of knowledge I gained in the training classes and how easy they make it to learn.

I really appreciate the like-minded people I work with and look forward coming to work every day. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors and hope that Trumpf is in your crosshairs.

Trumpf was a good fit for me because…

Prior ET experience allowed for a smooth transition into the electrical field as a startup technician.

I can continue to travel if I wish as a service technician, or have to option not to travel and can work from a centralized location.

The atmosphere during my initial tour, and the friendliness of the employees was very welcoming.

Company philosophies and problem solving techniques show a dedication to becoming better on a continuous basis.

Education reimbursement awards me the opportunity to better myself, and keep learning.
